How to Apply Skin Tint Flawlessly
We’re big fans of skin tints. They’re a good choice for all skin types – even oily or dry skin. Packed with nourishing ingredients and with sheer coverage, it’s a lighter option for a dewy, no-makeup look that will also help improve the appearance and texture of your skin.

You’re going to get a completely different look with a skin tint than you would with a heavy foundation, or even a CC or BB cream. So proper application is a must! Follow these steps for the perfect skin tint application.
How to apply skin tint
Step 1: Prep your skin
Wash your face and follow up with your usual skincare routine. Even though skin tints and tinted moisturizers are lightweight and nourishing, you’ll want to apply all serums and creams first, as well as any moisturizer you need if your skin is feeling particularly dry or sensitive.
It’s important to know that skin tints with SPF last about 2 hours, so for all-day protection we recommend reapplying or following up with a brush-on mineral sunscreen throughout the day to keep your skin protected.
Step 2: How to use skin tint
A little goes a long way with our Life’s a Beach Skin Tint. You can achieve a dewy, airbrushed glow with only 1-2 pumps. Apply directly to your cheeks and gently blend with a makeup brush or beauty sponge. Focus on cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. Just with liquid foundation, check the sides of your face and neck to make sure your skin tint is blended.
Do you prefer to apply with your fingertips? Not a problem! You can blend in with your fingers as well if you’d rather ditch the makeup brush. Start with one pump and gently blend outward in sweeping motions, similar to how you apply tinted moisturizer. Always make sure you apply with freshly cleaned hands to prevent acne breakouts!

Step 3: Touch Ups
For more coverage, you can add another pump or layer with a touch of foundation for problem areas. If you’re experiencing a breakout, you can dab concealer on blemishes. We always recommend erring on the side of lighter rather than a darker tone for concealer, to help offset shadows caused by raised spots. To brighten under eye circles, apply concealer here as well.
We recommend skipping powders, as the matte effect will counteract the covetable dewy, glowing finish that your skin tint gives you! The dewy finish means you can even skip the highlighter if you want, as your skin will already have plenty of glow. For an energized finish, blend in blush upward onto your cheekbones toward your temples.
Step 4: Finished!
Yep, it’s really that quick and simple. Another reason to love skin tints – it’s an easy and quick routine for rushed mornings or touch ups on the go. No multi-step process or endless products. And every use helps you not only look your best today, it actively improves your skin to look your best tomorrow.
Our Life’s a Beach Skin Tint contains SPF 31, making it perfect for daily use. Hyaluronic acid visibly plumps and smoothes the appearance of fine lines. Green Tea Leaf Extract helps soothe irritation and redness, while grapefruit and willow bark extracts fight free radicals and acne.
